New Year fireworks
The New Year fireworks in Kitzbühel on January 1st in the Streif finish area entertain tens of thousands of visitors every year. First, the ski instructors of the “Rote Teufel” Kitzbühel ski school welcome the New Year with the traditional torchlight ride. The witch burning takes place on the Ramusleitn. This symbolic act is intended to protect skiers from skiing accidents. At the end of the spectacle, daring ski and snowboard instructors jump over and through the meter-high flames. Then follow the New Year's greetings in countless languages and a short New Year's speech. The highlight is the fireworks with a cloud of sound created by a pyro-professional.
